Why buy Handmade and Vintage Behind the 30on30 concept

Initially when I contacted anniepoo of  www.anniepoo.etsy.com her inspiration for this was the 3/50 project. 
3/50 is a movement encouraging people to forego the box stores and spend their dollars on local independant businesses.  But in this ever changing world we are rapidly becoming a global marketplace all of us connected thru the internet our communities are bridging boundaries and oceans.   85% of net surfers shop online. 
So where does 30 on 30 fit in? 
We are all intwined in a global marketplace.  And everyone loves to shop online!  But that doesn't mean that you can't shop responsibly or ethically.  Buying Handmade and Vintage directly stimulates economies the world over.  Gives each buyer a direct connection with the person who created or salvaged that item. Buying Vintage saves our environment buy finding what is beautiful in old things cast aside or carefully curated.  It is ethical consumerism.  Your dollars go directly into the pockets of Artisans and Crafters It stimulates local economies and helps keep Art and the appreciation of Beautiful things ever on the forefront.  The more people who invest in handmade goods, the more we protect our environment and our souls!  Cause besides being ethical and responsible handmade just makes our souls feel good.  And in this ever changing world things that feed your sould are just good and hard to come by!   Make sure you check the shops  participating in the 30 on 30 event HERE!
